RESOLUTION NO. R24-89 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY 
OF PEORIA, CITY OF EL MIRAGE, AND MARICOPA 
COUNTY 
TOWARDS 
THE 
RESCINDMENT 
AND 
REIMBURSEMENT 
FOR 
THE 
IMPROVEMENTS 
ASSOCIATED WITH THE PREVIOUS CONSTRUCTION OF 
BUTLER DRIVE AND 129TH AVENUE AS PART OF THE 
NORTHERN PARKWAY PROJECT. 
 
WHEREAS, the Northern Parkway construction included the improvements along Butler 
Drive and 129th Avenue in the City of El Mirage on the northeast corner of Dysart Road and 
Northern Parkway Westbound Frontage Road; and 
 
WHEREAS, the portion of improvements along Butler Drive and 129th Avenue 
constructed as part of the Northern Parkway project were requested for abandonment by the 
developer; and 
 
WHEREAS, City of Glendale, City of Peoria, City of El Mirage, and Maricopa County 
desire to enter into this Agreement for Maricopa County to accept the reimbursement of project 
costs by the developer to be allocated towards the remaining portions of the Northern Parkway 
project. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and its citizens 
thereof that the City of Glendale enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with City of Peoria, 
City of El Mirage, and Maricopa County for the reimbursement of project costs by the developer 
to be allocated towards the remaining portions of the Northern Parkway project. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Manager or designee and City Clerk are authorized and directed 
to execute and deliver such agreement on behalf of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 3. The City of Glendale will have no financial obligations associated with this 
reimbursement of project costs towards the remaining portions of the Northern Parkway project.
