RESOLUTION NO. R24-135
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY FOR ENERGY
EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, The City of Glendale applied for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Block Grant Program – Bipartisan Infrastructure Law 2021 (EECBBGBIL).
WHEREAS, The City of Glendale was awarded the EECBBGBIL Grant in the amount of
$259,960.00.
WHEREAS, The City of Glendale will be retrofitting the existing decorative downtown
pedestrian lights with LED lights and use dimming technology to reduce energy consumption.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens
thereof that an agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy for retrofitting decorative downtown
pedestrian lights to LED lights and use dimming technology to reduce energy consumption, be
entered into, which agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on
behalf of the City of Glendale.
