Fireworks Ordinance Amendment Rick St. John, Deputy City Manager Fireworks Ordinance Amendment 2 We are seeking Council consensus to amend our Fireworks ordinance to comply with State law Fireworks Ordinance Amendment 3 GCC Chapter 26 (Offenses – Misc) Sec 26-70.3.a defines the dates permissible fireworks are allowed to be used. – The current ordinance says June 24th – July 6th and December 24th – January 3rd. – SB 1348 in 2019, added May 4th – May 6th, and the second and third days of Diwali – SB 1188 in 2023, changed the New Years dates to December 26th – January 4th Fireworks Ordinance Amendment 4 To comply with current State law, we need to add; – May 4th – May 6th – Add the second and third days of Diwali – Change from December 24th – January 3rd to December 26th – January 4th Fireworks Ordinance Amendment 5 We are seeking Council consensus to amend our Fireworks ordinance to comply with State law
