Special Meeting - Installation Ceremony Civic Center City Council Mayor Jerry Weiers Councilmember Leandro Baldenegro Councilmember Lupe Conchas, Jr. Councilmember Dianna T. Guzman Councilmember Ray Malnar Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff Councilmember Bart Turner CALL TO ORDER Mayor Weiers called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. POSTING OF COLORS The Colors were posted by the United States Air Force and the Civil Air Patrol. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE WELCOME Mayor Weiers welcomed everyone to the installation ceremony. OATH OF OFFICE 1. The Oath of Office was administered to Councilmember-elect Conchas by the Honorable Enrique Ochoa Medina, Justice of the Peace for the Downtown Precinct. Councilmember Conchas promised to lead with integrity and act with transparency. He thanked his family and everyone who supported him during his campaign. He would be holding monthly meetings to hear hopes and concerns from residents. He looked forward to serving the people of Glendale. 2. The Oath of Office was administered to Councilmember-elect Guzman by the Honorable Nicholas DiPiazza, Presiding Judge of the Glendale City Court. Councilmember Guzman thanked her family and friends for their support and encouragement. She thanked her campaign manager Darius Diggs and the Field Team from Victory Outreach Church for their tireless work during the campaign. She looked forward to collaborating with her fellow Councilmembers and uniting in service to the City. 3. The Oath of Office was administered to Mayor Weiers by the Honorable Nicholas DiPiazza, Presiding Judge of the Glendale City Court. Mayor Weiers said Council wanted to improve the lives of the people it served everyday. The City was in much better shape than it was 12 years ago and he looked forward to working with Council to make the City the best it could be. He thanked his wife and family for their support. VIDEO PRESENTATION 4. Message from Councilmember Ray Malnar, Sahuaro District Councilmember Malnar was unable to attend the meeting and the Oath of Office was administered earlier in the day by Judge DiPiazza . Councilmember Malnar said he was proud of the things Council had accomplished in the nine years he had been on Council, and he wanted the City's momentum to continue. He thanked his City Council Meeting Minutes - December 10, 2024 Page 2 of 3 wife Mary and his family for their support. He believed in openness and transparency and did all he could to resolve residents' concerns. ADJOURNMENT Mayor Weiers adjourned the meeting at 8:11 p.m. I hereby certify that the foregoing minutes are a true and correct copy of the minutes of the meeting of the Glendale City Council of Glendale, Arizona, held on the 10th day of December, 2024.
