ORDINANCE NO. O25-02 
 
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
ESTABLISHING THE GLENDALE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 2 
(ADMINISTRATION), 
ARTICLE 
III 
(OFFICERS 
AND 
EMPLOYEES), SECTION 2-59 (CITY CLERK) AND SETTING 
FORTH AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 
 
 
WHEREAS, the council, by ordinance not inconsistent with the charter, shall provide for 
the organization, conduct and operation of the several offices and departments of the city as 
established by this charter, for the creation of additional departments, divisions, offices and 
agencies and for their consolidation, alteration or abolition. The council, by ordinance not 
inconsistent with this charter, may assign additional functions or duties to offices, departments 
or agencies. Where the positions are not incompatible, the council may combine in one person 
the powers and duties of two or more offices created or authorized by this charter. The council 
shall provide for the number, titles, qualifications, powers, duties and compensation of all 
officers and employees of the city. 
 
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
 
SECTION 1.  That the Glendale City Code Chapter 2 (Administration), Article III (Officers 
and Employees), Section 2--59 (City Clerk) shall read as follows: 
Sec. 2-59. - City clerk. 
(a) 
In addition to those duties and responsibilities set forth in the charter, the 
city clerk shall serve as the reporting manager for the mayor and council assistant 
and administrative positions.  
 
SECTION 2.  That the provisions of this ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) 
days after passage of this ordinance by the Glendale City Council. 
 
SECTION 3. 
That the City Manager is accordingly directed and authorized to take all 
necessary actions in accordance with this ordinance.
