RESOLUTION NO. R25-16  
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE 
ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE 
GLENDALE AVE; 83RD AVE – 45TH AVE ADAPTIVE 
SIGNAL CONTROL IN MARICOPA COUNTY.  
 
 
WHEREAS, Glendale Avenue between 83rd Ave and 45th Avenue is a paved roadway 
owned, operated, and maintained by the City of Glendale; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City intends to approve traffic operations along Glendale Avenue; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City obtained grant funding from the Maricopa County Association of 
Governments (MAG) for the purchase of adaptive signal control equipment; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will administer the 
federal grant funding on behalf of MAG; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale will own and operate the signal equipment that is being 
installed as part of this project. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
thereof that an intergovernmental agreement with Arizona Department of Transportation for the 
upgrading of various signal with adaptive signal control along Glendale Ave between 83rd Ave 
and  45th Ave. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and 
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on 
behalf of the City of Glendale.
