RESOLUTION NO. R25-35 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF A RECIPROCAL SERVICES INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR LANDFILL DISPOSAL SERVICES WITH THE CITY OF PHOENIX. WHEREAS, the City of Glendale has a Municipal Landfill located at 11480 West Glendale Avenue; and WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix has two municipal solid waste transfer stations, the 27th Avenue Solid Waste Management Facility and the North Gateway Solid Waste Management Facility; and WHEREAS, the City of Glendale and the City of Phoenix believe it to be mutually beneficial for each Party to utilize the Facility owned by the other for operational efficiency of the collection and disposal of solid waste, including vehicle routing, avoidance of excessive travel times and distance, fuel economy and reduction of pollution; and WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix and City of Glendale wish to enter into a Reciprocal Services Intergovernmental Agreement for Landfill Disposal for that purpose; and WHEREAS, on March 5, 2025, the Council of the City of Phoenix approved the Reciprocal Services Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Phoenix and the City of Glendale for Landfill Disposal. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens thereof that a Reciprocal Services Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Phoenix for landfill disposal services be entered into, which agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be authorized and directed to execute and deliver said agreement on behalf of the City of Glendale at his discretion, and to extend the term in accordance with the provisions of the Intergovernmental Agreement.
