RESOLUTION NO. R25-38
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE
STATE OF ARIZONA (IGA 25-0010965-I) FOR THE SCOPING
OF A MEDIAN CABLE BARRIER ALONG NORTHERN
PARKWAY FROM DYSART ROAD TO 143RD AVENUE
WITHIN THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale submitted an application to the state of Arizona for the
installation of a median cable barrier on Northern Parkway from Dysart Road to 143rd Avenue;
and
WHEREAS, the placement of the median cable barrier will help promote traffic safety
along Northern Parkway; and
WHEREAS, the State of Arizona through the Arizona Department of Transportation will
be the lead agency overseeing the scoping of the project; and
WHEREAS, the work proposed under this agreement consists of scoping services to review
a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) application to install a median cable barrier along
Northern Parkway from Dysart Road to 143rd Avenue.
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale will, if successful in securing the HSIP funding, maintain
the median cable barrier.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens
thereof that an intergovernmental agreement with the state of Arizona for the scoping of the median
cable barrier project be entered into, which agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk
of the City of Glendale.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on
behalf of the City of Glendale.
