Feb. 2024 Staff and Arcadis presented to Council an overview of AMI utility and customer benefits and estimated cost. Council provided a consensus to move forward with a formal solicitation for water meter replacement with AMI. Aug. 2024 City published a Request for Proposal (RFP) for water meter replacement with advanced meter infrastructure. Oct-Dec 2024 A 5-member committee evaluated six proposals based on criteria, experience, and price. Badger Meter was determined to be the most responsive and responsible proposal. Jan 2025-April 2025 Contract development and Notice of Intent to award to Badger Meter was published April 10th, 2025 8 Current and Future Water Metering CURRENT 94% 6% Visual Read Walk By Meter Reading Radio Read Drive By Meter Reading (AMR) Mechanical Meters Mechanical Meters Approximately 65,000 total water meters, located outdoors in water meter boxes.
