GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA

ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AMENDMENT 
NO. 
ONE 
(25-0011092-1) 
TO 
THE 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA 22-0008643-1) 
WITH 
THE 
ARIZONA 
DEPARTMENT 
OF 
TRANSPORTATION 
FOR 
THE 
INSTALLATION 
OF 
SIDEWALKS 
AND 
ENHANCEMENT 
OF 
BICYCLE 
FACILITIES IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY MISSOURI 
AVENUE, 61ST AVENUE, BETHANY HOME ROAD, 55TH 
AVE AND 51ST AVENUE. 
 
WHEREAS, on April 23, 2024, City Council previously approved the entering into of 
an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation (IGA 22-
0008643- 1) (C22-0803) to improve sidewalk connectivity and bicycle facilities and in the area 
bounded by Missouri Avenue, 61st Avenue, Bethany Home Road, 55th Avenue and 51st 
Avenue (“Project”); and 
 
WHEREAS, the Federal Government approved funds through the Federal Highway 
Administration ("FHWA") agency to Glendale to improve sidewalk connectivity and bicycle 
facilities in the Project area; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is responsible for 94.3% of 
the Project .and the City will be responsible for 5.7% of the Project; and 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale and the Arizona Department of Transportation wish 
to further amend said Intergovernmental Agreement, increasing the project cost by 
$2,208,260.00, for a new project budget of $4,941,814.00, which includes federal aid and the 
City's match. 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the 
citizens thereof to enter into Amendment No. One to the Intergovernmental Agreement with 
the Arizona Department of Transportation for the design and construction of sidewalks and 
bicycle facilities in the area bounded by Missouri Avenue, 61st Avenue, Bethany Home Road, 55th 
Avenue and 51st Avenue (IGA 22-0008643-1), which agreement is now on file in the office of 
the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. 
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and City Clerk are authorized and 
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement 
on behalf of the City of Glendale.
