All thirteen reports were for noise. Three (3) households were repeat residences. Meeting Date: May 13, 2026 Chandler Municipal Airport Noise Report Previous Caller (Daytime) Previous Caller (Nighttime) New Caller (Daytime) New Caller (Nighttime) Household #1 through #5 reported a loud aircraft circling the airport continuously for approximately 30 minutes. Flight tracking revealed that a CHD based Extra 300 was conducting a maintenance flight for a newly installed engine. Contacted each household and explained that the high-performance aircraft conducted the initial engine run and remained near the airport if in case of problems. It is also explained that this type of flight activity only happens very occasionally and never routinely. I also stressed that if the aircraft encountered any difficulty, it could easily return to the airport. Household #6 , which is in Town of Maricopa, reported several aircraft circling over the town and inquired as to why they couldn’t fly out over the desert. Flight tracking revealed that the aircraft in question were not based at CHD, but other airports with flight training. All aircraft were well above regulatory altitudes and explained the use of the airspace for flight training and other aeronautical activities. Household #7 reported a loud aircraft late in the evening doing repeated circles over the neighborhood. Flight tracking revealed that it was a flight training aircraft out of GYR conducting pattern work at regulatory altitudes. Contacted the flight school and requested their voluntary consideration to refrain from after-hours pattern work. Household #8 reported a loud helicopter circling the neighborhood late at night. Flight tracking data revealed that the aircraft was the Mesa Police helicopter conducting air support assistance during a law enforcement situation. Household #9, which is in the Town of Gilbert reported several loud aircraft conducting more than 10 touch and go landings each and not avoiding the residence. Flight tracking revealed that most of the aircraft that was encountered was conducting pattern work. All aircraft were at regulatory altitudes. Household #10 , which is in Sun Lakes reported many repeated overflights of the residence during the day. This household is on the extended centerline for the south runway. Flight tracking for the proceeding two weeks indicated aircraft above regulatory altitudes and were arriving or departing straight out from the airport. Household #11, which is in the Town of Gilbert reported loud and repeated aircraft traffic over her newly rented apartment. Flight tracking data revealed that the residence is on the extended centerline of RWY 4L and most of the aircraft encountered were conducting pattern work. Residence was described as a five-story apartment building and the resident lives on the top floor. Household #12 reported loud helicopters over the residence, which is immediately adjacent to Cooper Road. Flight tracking data revealed that most of the helicopters encountered were conducting pattern work on TWY C and were at regulatory altitudes.
