D R A F T MINUTES GOVERNMENT SERVICES COMMITTEE CITY HALL CITY CLERK'S CONFERENCE ROOM 5850 W. GLENDALE AVE. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301 DECEMBER 9, 2019 2:00 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER Vice Mayor Clark called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Joyce Clark, Vice Mayor Jamie Aldama, Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, Councilmember Also Present: Julie K. Bower, City Clerk 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES 1. Approval of the minutes of the November 5, 2019 Government Services Committee meeting Motioned by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, seconded by Councilmember Jamie Aldama to approve the minutes of the November 5, 2019 Government Services Committee meeting. AYE: Vice Mayor Joyce Clark Councilmember Jamie Aldama Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff Passed 5. RESIGNATIONS John Crow, Mayoral, Citizen Bond Election Committee, effective 11/7/2019 6. NEW BUSINESS 1. Human Relations Commission draft ordinance regarding a reduction in the number of members of the Commission Vice Mayor Clark had attended the November 13th meeting of the Human Relations Commission (HRC). HRC members were in support of reducing the number of members but were not in support of changing the name of the Commission. The Commission wanted to meet with the staff liaison of the Employee Inclusion Network. There was consensus to proceed with the draft ordinance. 7. MOTION TO ENTER INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION Motioned by Councilmember Jamie Aldama, seconded by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff to hold an executive session. AYE: Vice Mayor Joyce Clark Councilmember Jamie Aldama Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff Passed 8. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Government Services Committee entered into executive session at 2:09 p.m. for discussion of matters and appointments relating to various boards, commissions and other bodies pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(1). Motioned by Councilmember Jamie Aldama, seconded by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff to adjourn the executive session. AYE: Vice Mayor Joyce Clark Councilmember Jamie Aldama Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff Passed Vice Mayor Clark adjourned the executive session at 2:17 p.m. 9. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Government Services Committee will be held on January 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., in the Council Conference Room of City Hall, located at 5850 W. Glendale Ave, Glendale, Arizona, 85301. 10. ADJOURNMENT Motioned by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, seconded by Councilmember Jamie Aldama to adjourn the meeting.
