CALL TO ORDER Chair Barber called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Chair Barber facilitated roll call and announced quorum. Present: Derrell Barber, Chair Lorraine Zomok, Vice Chair Jose Aguinaga, Commissioner Jean Hailey, Commissioner Nancy Lenox, Commissioner Nicole Riley, Commissioner Absent: Kaitlyn Whittaker, Commissioner Also Present: Mojgan Vahabzadeh, Arts & Culture Program Manager Tiffany Lippincott, Arts & Culture Coordinator 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no comments. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Motion: To approve the Arts Commission Minutes of March 24, 2022 as written Motioned by Vice Chair Lorraine Zomok, seconded by Commissioner Jean Hailey AYE: Chair Derrell Barber Vice Chair Lorraine Zomok Commissioner Jose Aguinaga Commissioner Jean Hailey Commissioner Nancy Lenox Commissioner Nicole Riley Passed 5. NEW BUSINESS a. INFORMATION: Commission Introductions to the Arts & Culture Coordinator Ms. Vahabzadeh introduced Ms. Lippincott, the new Arts & Culture Coordinator. All present introduced themselves and shared a brief background. b. INFORMATION: The 2022 Glendale Photo Contest Ms. Vahabzadeh shared information about the open call for the Glendale Photo Contest. The deadline for entries is May 24, 2022. The Arts Commission will judge the entries at their next meeting on May 26, 2022. The purchase award for each selected photo is $150. c. INFORMATION: Glendale Arts & Culture Master Plan Ms. Vahabzadeh provided information about the upcoming Arts & Culture Master Plan process, which was approved by the City Council to be conducted in FY 2022-23. 6. STAFF UPDATES Ms. Vahabzadeh announced that the application process for the FY 2022-2023 Performing Arts Grant is live and open for submissions until July 13, 2023. 7. COMMISSION COMMENTS There were no comments. 8. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Glendale Arts Commission will be held in person on Thursday, May 26 at Glendale City Hall, Conference Room 2A, at 6:00 p.m. 9.
