Purchase Items: Description of purchase, quantities, and recommended vendor information if available. Attach quotes if
available:
We would like to purchase (4) 2026 BMW R1300- RT-P police motorcycles- Recommended Vendor would be GOAZ however
exploring other vendor option could work depending on contracts and lead times. Lead times currently 9 months or so. The
sooner we can place an order the better.
Approximate Cost fully equipped. $42,203.94 each x 4 - $168,815.76
Purchase Justification: Provide a description of the need for the item and explain how it benefits the department/unit. Include
the priority level of this purchase. Attach additional pages if more space is needed.
The additional motorcycles are needed to grow and supplement the existing motorcycles. We just had a motorcycled significantly
damaged when a vehicle crashed into it. The current motorcycles are being used for daily enforcement and for training as well.
New motorcycles will allow for the older motorcycles to be used primarily as trainers This would reduce wear and tear on
equipment and the motorcycle itself. Each motor officer would be able to have an assigned motorcycle as opposed to switching
motorcycles daily. Consistency in settings and the handling of each individual motorcycle equates to safer operation.
