PUBLIC COMMENTS No Comments were received 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Motion: Approval of the Arts Commission Minutes of August 25, 2022 Motioned by Commissioner Nicole Riley, seconded by Commissioner Jose Aguinaga To approve the Arts Commission minutes of August 25, 2022 as written. AYE: Chair Derrell Barber Vice Chair Lorraine Zomok Commissioner Jose Aguinaga Commissioner Jean Hailey Commissioner Nicole Riley Other: Commissioner Nancy Lenox (ABSENT) Passed 5. NEW BUSINESS a. Information: Introductions The Commissioners met Taylor Ingro, the new City of Glendale Arts & Culture Coordinator b. Action: Approval of the artist for the Sierra Verde Park Well Site Public Art Project Motioned by Vice Chair Lorraine Zomok, seconded by Commissioner Jean Hailey Motion:To approve Mr. John Randall Nelson as the selected artist for the Sierra Verde Park Well Site Public Art Project. Action: Winter 2023 Arts & Culture Festival Motioned by Commissioner Nicole Riley, seconded by Commissioner Jose Aguinaga Motion:To approve up to $49,000 in funding for the one-day Winter 2023 Arts & Culture Festival on February, 4, 2023 in downtown Glendale. STAFF UPDATES Ms. Vahabzadeh thanked the Commission for its support of Ballet Under the Stars. She said the event was wonderful and estimated there were more attendees than last year. 7. COMMISSION COMMENTS There were no comments. 8. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Glendale Arts Commission will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 27 via Zoom. 9.
