D R A F T MINUTES GOVERNMENT SERVICES COMMITTEE CITY HALL COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM 5850 W. GLENDALE AVE. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301 OCTOBER 4, 2022 2:00 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL Present: Bart Turner, Chair Ian Hugh, Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, Councilmember Also Present: Julie K. Bower, City Clerk Marcela Moreno, Assistant to the City Clerk 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES A. Approval of the minutes of the May 3, 2022 Government Services Committee Meeting Motioned by Councilmember Ian Hugh, seconded by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff to approve the minutes of the May 3, 2022 Government Services Committee Meeting. AYE: Chair Bart Turner Councilmember Ian Hugh Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff Passed 5. RESIGNATIONS A. Ms. Bower said the following members had resigned: Bernice Harris, Yucca, Library Advisory Board, effective August 8, 2022 Gayle Schiavone, Yucca, Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission, effective September 9, 2022 John Jones, Sahuaro, Municipal Property Corporation Commission, effective September 28, 2022 Martha Dennis, Barrel, Commission on Diverse Cultures, effective October 3, 2022 6. NEW BUSINESS A. Discussion regarding the Board and Commission Member Annual Appreciation Dinner Ms. Bower requested feedback for the Annual Board and Commission Appreciation Dinner regarding possible venues, preferred date and catering options. The GSC discussed event details and requested additional information. Staff was directed to poll Council regarding which Thursday in March worked best for the dinner and funding for attendee gifts. 7. MOTION TO ENTER INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION Motioned by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to hold an executive session. AYE: Chair Bart Turner Councilmember Ian Hugh Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff Passed 8. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Government Services Commission met in executive session at 2:07 p.m. for discussion and consideration of appointments and other items relating to various boards and commissions and other bodies pursuant to (A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(1)). Motioned by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to adjourn the executive session. Glendale Ave, Glendale, Arizona, 85301. 10. ADJOURNMENT Motioned by Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to adjourn the meeting.
