CALL TO ORDER Chair Malnar called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Joyce Clark, Vice Mayor Raymond Malnar, Councilmember Absent: Jamie Aldama, Councilmember Also Present: Marcela Moreno, Deputy City Clerk Anne Thomson, Assistant to the City Clerk Jose Santiago, Public Safety Media/Communications Program Manager 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no comments. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Approval of the minutes of the October 10, 2023 Government Services Committee meeting Motioned by Vice Mayor Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Raymond Malnar to approve the October 10, 2023 Government Services Committee meeting minutes. AYE: Vice Mayor Joyce Clark Councilmember Raymond Malnar Other: Councilmember Jamie Aldama (ABSENT) Passed 5. RESIGNATIONS Jean Hailey, Cactus, Arts Commission, effective October 23, 2023 Kathleen Roe, Mayoral, Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission, effective December 11, 2023 6. MOTION TO ENTER INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION Motioned by Vice Mayor Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Raymond Malnar to enter into executive session. AYE: Vice Mayor Joyce Clark Councilmember Raymond Malnar Other: Councilmember Jamie Aldama (ABSENT) Passed 7. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Government Services Commission met in executive session at 11:33 a.m for discussion on consideration of appointments to the following boards and commissions and other bodies (A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(1)) Motioned by Vice Mayor Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Raymond Malnar to adjourn the executive session. AYE: Vice Mayor Joyce Clark Councilmember Raymond Malnar Other: Councilmember Jamie Aldama (ABSENT) Passed Chair Malnar adjourned the executive session at 11:52 a.m. 8. NEXT MEETING Ms. Moreno said the next scheduled meeting of the Government Services Committee would be held on January 9, 2024 at 11:30 a.m., in the Vault Conference Room of the Civic Center Annex. The GSC directed staff on items for discussion at the January 9, 2024 GSC meeting. 9. ADJOURNMENT Motioned by Vice Mayor Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Raymond Malnar to adjourn the meeting.
