D R A F T MINUTES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Glendale Civic Center Sapphire Room 5750 W Glenn Dr. Glendale, Arizona 85301 JUNE 20, 2024 5:30 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair Baker called the meeting to order at 5:36 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Lisa Baker, Chair Moises Gallegos, Vice Chair Kelly Carbello, Committee Member David Giles, Committee Member Brandon Hiller, Committee Member Absent: Kirstin Flores, Committee Member Theodora Hackenberg, Committee Member Carlos Vargas, Committee Member Also Present: Matthew Hess, Interim, Community Services Deputy Director Trilese DiLeo, Community Revitalization Grants Supervisor Yolanda Poole, Administrative Support Specialist 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Community Development Advisory Committee Minutes of May 16, 2024 Motioned by Committee Member David Giles, seconded by Vice Chair Moises Gallegos AYE: Chair Lisa Baker Vice Chair Moises Gallegos Committee Member Kelly Carbello Committee Member David Giles Committee Member Brandon Hiller Other: Committee Member Kirstin Flores (ABSENT) Committee Member Theodora Hackenberg (ABSENT) Committee Member Carlos Vargas (ABSENT) Passed 5. OLD BUSINESS None. 6. NEW BUSINESS a. DISCUSSION AND INFORMATION REGARDING THE UPCOMING CDAC GOAL SETTING AND RETREAT PLANNING Mr. Hess discussed options for a retreat for the CDAC committee. The Committee discussed the information and agreed to vacate the July 18, 2024 CDAC meeting and planned the retreat for August 10, 2024 at the Foothills Library from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. b. DISCUSSION AND INFORMATION REGARDING THE GLENDALE WORKS PROGRAM UPDATE Mr. Hess discussed the background and purpose of Glendale Works, operational logistics, achievements and community impact. The Committee discussed the information. 8. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Mr. Hess advised the committee that a new member would be sworn in on June 25, 2024. He also reminded the committee that they received the FY23 Single Audit in their email. This is a CSBG requirement for the Community Action Program (CAP) to fulfill ORG standards 8.3 and 8.4 and he noted no findings were in the report. 9. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS Ms. Carbello would like to learn more about Arizona Faith Networks and the services they provide. 10. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Community Development Advisory Committee will be held on July 18, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., in the Sapphire Room at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Dr., Glendale, Arizona, 85301. This meeting will be vacated. 11.
