D R A F T MINUTES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE GLENDALE CIVIC CENTER SAPPHIRE ROOM 5750 W. GLENN DR. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301 AUGUST 15, 2024 5:30 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Baker called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Lisa Baker, Chair Moises Gallegos, Vice Chair Kelly Carbello, Committee Member Jamon Fifer, Committee Member Kirstin Flores, Committee Member David Giles, Committee Member Carlos Vargas, Committee Member Absent: Theodora Hackenberg, Committee Member Brandon Hiller, Committee Member Also Present: Matthew Hess, Deputy Director, Community Services Yolanda Poole, Management Assistant, Community Services 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Community Development Advisory Committee Minutes of June 20, 2024 Motioned by Committee Member David Giles, seconded by Vice Chair Moises Gallegos AYE: Chair Lisa Baker Vice Chair Moises Gallegos Committee Member Jamon Fifer Committee Member Kelly Carbello Committee Member Kirstin Flores Committee Member David Giles Committee Member Carlos Vargas Other: Committee Member Theodora Hackenberg (ABSENT) Committee Member Brandon Hiller (ABSENT) Passed 6. OLD BUSINESS None. 7. NEW BUSINESS a. FY 2024-25 CDAC Training Topics Mr. Hess discussed with the CDAC committee possible training opportunities that could help the members carry out the committee's purpose. The CDAC committee discussed the information. 8. DIRECTOR'S REPORT Mr. Hess announced that the Community Services Department is moving into the GESD System of Care located at 7677 W. Bethany Home Rd. Glendale, AZ 85301. The open house and ribbon cutting will be held on August 21, 2024 , from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. 9. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS Commissioner Gallegos suggested holding the future CDAC meetings at the GESD System of Care. Commissioner Vargas thanked Mr. Hess for the Centerline property tour on August 10th. He also requested information about the studies done before allotting the parking spaces for the Centerline project. 10. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Community Development Advisory Committee will be held on September 19, 2024 at 5:30 p.m., in the Sapphire Room at the Glendale Civic Center, located at 5750 W. Glenn Ave., Glendale, Arizona, 85301. 11.
