ROLL CALL Present: Diane Kocur, Chair Theresa Fowler, Vice Chair Cody Bro, Board Member April Greer, Board Member Gary Johnson, Board Member Meegan Tosh, Board Member Absent: Thomas Varela, Board Member Also Present:Dawn Ferro, Interim Chief Librarian Esther Peneff, Administrative Support Specialist 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Library Advisory Board Minutes of May 8, 2024. Motioned by Board Member Cody Bro, seconded by Board Member April Greer to approve the May 8, 2024 Library Advisory Board minutes as written. AYE: Chair Diane Kocur Vice Chair Theresa Fowler Board Member Cody Bro Board Member April Greer Board Member Gary Johnson Board Member Meegan Tosh Other:Board Member Thomas Varela (ABSENT) Passed 5. NEW BUSINESS a. INFORMATION: UPDATE ON NEW LIBRARY TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS Chief Librarian Ferro gives details on the new items underway at the library: Self Check machines-Main library. Material Handlers-Main and Foothills library. b. ACTION: LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD FY2024-2025 ACTION PLAN GOALS Board members discussed the current action plan goals and made revisions for fiscal year 2024-2025. Motioned by Board Member Cody Bro, seconded by Board Member Meegan Tosh to adopt the Library Advisory Board action plan goals for fiscal year 2024-2025: 1. Advocate for continued expansion of diverse programming for all ages. 2. Recommend the promotion of post-high school workforce opportunities through parnerships. 3. Recommend continued outreach at alternative sites such as; assisted living, senior centers and schools. 4. Recommend continued efforts to raise awareness of library programs and fines free policy. CHIEF LIBRARIAN UPDATE a. Interim Chief Librarian Ferro gave updates on branch projects. 7. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS None. 8. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Library Advisory Board will be held on September 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., in the Board Room of the Main Library, located at 5959 W. Brown St., Glendale, Arizona, 85302. 9.
