ROLL CALL Present: Diane Kocur, Chair Theresa Fowler, Vice Chair Cody Bro, Board Member April Greer, Board Member Gary Johnson, Board Member Meegan Tosh, Board Member Absent: Thomas Varela, Board Member Also Present:Dawn Ferro, Interim Chief Librarian Jeff Daukus, City of Glendale Police Sergeant Alexandra Rowland, Interim Supervising Librarian Erin Garred, Interim Branch Manager-Foothills Library Esther Peneff, Administrative Support Specialist 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Library Advisory Board Minutes of August 31, 2024. Motioned by Board Member Cody Bro, seconded by Vice Chair Theresa Fowler to approve the minutes of the August 31, 2024 Library Advisory Board. AYE: Chair Diane Kocur Vice Chair Theresa Fowler Board Member Cody Bro Board Member April Greer Board Member Gary Johnson Board Member Meegan Tosh Other:Board Member Thomas Varela (ABSENT) Passed 5. NEW BUSINESS a. INFORMATION: JUNIOR CSI ACADEMY PROGRAM. Sergeant Jeff Daukus spoke regarding the history of how the CSI program started. Ms. Rowland followed with the details of the program scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2024. b. INFORMATION: Summer Reading Program Update. Ms. Garred discusses the timeline and statistics of the Summer Reading program. The staff answers questions the board members had. 7. CHIEF LIBRARIAN UPDATE a. Chief Librarian Ferro gives the board members updates: Re-organization Public Service Assistant Interviews All Staff Day-October 14, 2024 Future Outreach Events LED Lighting Project 8. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS. Board members comment on upcoming projects and past library goals. 9. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Library Advisory Board will be held on October 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., in the Board Room of the Main Library, located at 5959 W. Brown St., Glendale, Arizona, 85302. 10.
