D R A F T MINUTES LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD GLENDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY 5959 W. BROWN ST. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85302 DECEMBER 11, 2024 6:00P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL Present: Diane Kocur, Chair Theresa Fowler, Vice Chair April Greer, Board Member Gary Johnson, Board Member Meegan Tosh, Board Member Thomas Varela, Board Member Absent: Cody Bro, Board Member Also Present:Dawn Ferro, Interim Chief Librarian Esther Peneff, Administrative Support Specialist 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Library Advisory Board Minutes of November 13, 2024. Motioned by Board Member Meegan Tosh, seconded by Vice Chair Theresa Fowler to approve the November 13, 2024 Library Advisory Board minutes. AYE:Chair Diane Kocur Vice Chair Theresa Fowler Board Member April Greer Board Member Gary Johnson Board Member Meegan Tosh Board Member Thomas Varela Passed 5. OLD BUSINESS a. INFORMATION: Interim Chief Librarian Ferro gave updates to the Library Advisory Board regarding the reorganization, including title changes of the library. b. INFORMATION: Interim Chief Librarian Ferro reported to the Library Advisory board regarding FY 23/24 Grant Totals for a variety of projects. 6. NEW BUSINESS a. INFORMATION: HEROES LIBRARY UPDATES AND TOUR Interim Chief Librarian Ferro mentioned recent improvements made to the Heroes Regional Park library regarding equipment, programming, and the collection. Then they proceeded with a walking tour highlighting the service areas and facility amenities. 7. CHIEF LIBRARIAN UPDATE a. Interim Chief Librarian Ferro gave updates regarding recent library events with attendee count and future events, including future library building maintenance and expansion updates. 8. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS None. 9. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Library Advisory Board will be held on January 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the Velma Teague Library located at 7010 N. 53rd Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, 85301. 10.
