D R A F T MINUTES AVIATION ADVISORY COMMISSION GLENDALE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT 6801 N. GLEN HARBOR BLVD. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85307 AIRPORT CONFERENCE ROOM JANUARY 15, 2025 6:00 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER The Aviation Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 6:06 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Chair Bud Zomok Vice Chair Michael Portik Commissioner Bill Eikost Commissioner Larry Rovey Commissioner Quentin Tolby Commissioner Josh Haislip Also Present: Matt Smith, Airport Administrator Julie Patterson, Management Assistant 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Approval of the Aviation Advisory Commission Minutes of December 18, 2024 Motioned by Vice Chair Michael Portik, seconded by Commissioner Quentin Tolby AYE: Chair Bud Zomok Vice Chair Michael Portik Commissioner Bill Eikost Commissioner Larry Rovey Commissioner Quentin Tolby Commissioner Josh Haislip Passed 5. AIRPORT BUSINESS Presented by Matt Smith, Airport Administrator The two vacant commission spots have been filled, Brett Grove for the Barrel district, and Josh Haislip for the Sahauro district. 1. The October revenue numbers were lower because staff was out of the office. 2. Rates and fees were presented to the commission. 3. South hangar assignments are almost drafted. 4. 6. STAFF REPORTS Presented by Matt Smith, Airport Administrator Operations and Financial reports were provided. The airport had the seventh-best year for the number of operations. 1. The airport has an FAA grant for a master plan. 2. Taxiway seal coat and paint and the runway overlay were approved by ADOT. This project will happen next fiscal year. 3. The control tower equipment is installed. A new contractor will be running the tower. 4. 7. LUKE AIR FORCE BASE OPERATIONS There was no Luke representative present. 8. COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS Commissioners ask that the previous year trend is shown in the Operations and Finance updates and that a larger font is used. 9. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Commissioners would like an airport tour when schedules permit. 10. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Aviation Advisory Commission will be held on February 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the conference room on the second floor of the Airport terminal building, 6801 N. Glen Harbor Blvd., Glendale, Arizona, 85307. 11.
