ROLL CALL Present: Diane Kocur, Chair Theresa Fowler, Vice Chair Cody Bro, Board Member April Greer, Board Member Gary Johnson, Board Member Meegan Tosh, Board Member Thomas Varela, Board Member Elijah Longoria, Teen Member Also Present:Dawn Ferro, Deputy Director, Library Services Greg Kinder, Branch Manager-Velma Teague Ivy Jarvis, Supervising Librarian-Main Library Esther Peneff, Management Assistant 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Library Advisory Board Minutes of December 11, 2024. Motioned by Board Member Cody Bro, seconded by Board Member April Greer to approve the December 11, 2024 Library Advisory Board minutes. INFORMATION: ARIZONA SONGWRITERS GATHERING PROGRAM Supervising Librarian Jarvis gave the history of the Arizona Songwriters Gathering program. The event will be held at the Main Library on Saturday, January 25, 2025, which will have food trucks, vendors and numerous musicians. b. INFORMATION: VELMA TEAGUE LIBRARY UPDATES AND TOUR Branch Manager Greg Kinder gave a presentation and updated the Board on the recent improvements made to the Velma Teague branch equipment, programming, and the collection. Mr. Kinder also provided a walking tour highlighting the service areas, facility amenities and answered questions. 6. DEPUTY DIRECTOR REPORT a. Dawn Ferro, Deputy Director of Library Services, gave updates to the Library Advisory board. 7. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS Board members gave suggestions on backpacks and updates pertaining to the Community Services library. Chair Kocur, Board Member Johnson and Board Member Elijah Longoria thanked the Library Advisory board and staff as it was their last meeting. 8. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Library Advisory Board will be held on February 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the Board Room of the Main Library, located at 5959 W. Brown St., Glendale, Arizona, 85302. 9.
