CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Ford called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Amber Ford, Vice Chair Dr. Kerry Duskin, Commissioner Srikanth Grandhi, Commissioner Scott Scherer, Commissioner Absent: Robin Berryhill, Chair Dalaina Hand, Commissioner Attendees: Ron Serio, P.E., Director, Water Services Katrina Alberty, Deputy Director, Water Services John Henny, Deputy Director, Water Services Mark Roye, Deputy Director, Water Services Megan Sheldon, Deputy Director, Water Services Lisa Esquivel, Administrator Department Support Services, Water Services Michelle Woytenko, Director, Field Operations Stacy Mawhiney, Account Specialist, Field Operations 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Approval of the November 13, 2024 Citizen Utility Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes Motioned by Commissioner Srikanth Grandhi, seconded by Commissioner Scott Scherer to approve the minutes of the November 13, 2024 meeting. AYE: Vice Chair Amber Ford Commissioner Dr. Kerry Duskin Commissioner Srikanth Grandhi Commissioner Scott Scherer Passed 5. 2025 COMMISSION CALENDAR AND AGENDA TOPICS a. Ms. Esquivel provided a draft of the 2025 Commission Calendar and Agenda Topics. 6. STAFF UPDATES a. Mr. Serio provided information about Councilmember Tolmachoff’s District meeting in December, which includes an ugly sweater contest. Katrina Alberty, Deputy Director of Water Services won the ugly sweater contest, earning a pizza party for staff. Mr. Serio also provided an update on Water Services rates stating the process has been delayed and it will be added to the agenda next month. Additionally, Mr. Serio mentioned that most Water Services staff require certifications. The exams are difficult, and we have implemented training, resulting in 15 out of 16 employees passing. Ms. Woytenko provided information that the holidays were busy, and Solid Waste was fully staffed for one day on January 7, 2025. Ms. Woytenko mentioned things are continuing to progress. Additionally, Landfill rates are being reviewed, and an update will be provided on the next agenda. Vice Chair Ford proposed scheduling a meeting in March or April, depending on rate updates. 7. COMMISSIONER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS None. 8. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS a. Future Agenda items for February 5, 2025: 1. Finalize CY2025 Commission Calendar and Topics 9. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Citizens Utility Advisory Commission will be held on February 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the Oasis Water Campus, 7070 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, Arizona, 85303. 10.
