NEW BUSINESS
a.
Action: Goal Setting and Topics of Discussion for Calendar Year 2025
The 2025 goals for the Commission were presented as follows:

Each Commissioner to attend and/or participate in one City of Glendale Event in
2025 (either Arts and Culture, Library, Dedication, or Special Event)
-
Commission meetings will rotate to various art-installed locations throughout the
seven districts of Glendale in addition to the Vault Conference Room, to be
determined by the Commission at least one month in advance of the next
Commission meeting.

The Arts Commission will attend the Annual Fine Art Exhibition hosted by the
Glendale Arts Council.

Information: Update on Completed Projects
Chris Taylor gave the Arts Commission a summary of the recently completed Arts and
Culture Fest from February 1, 2025. The summary included positives, opportunities to
improve the event for 2026, and opportunities for the Arts Commission to provide any
feedback to Chris, to then facilitate to SAACA.
c.
Information: Update on Current Projects
Chris Taylor updated the Arts Commission on progress with the Sensory Garden
renovations and restorations project, as well as the Downtown Mural project reflecting
key historical moments of the City of Glendale. Specifics included financial
breakdowns, Calls to Artists, Commissioner approvals, and deadlines for
commencement of phases.

STAFF REPORTS
The Arts Commission was introduced to Lizbeth Feria (Yucca District) and Elizabeth
Medina (Cactus District). Liz and Meme (preferred names) gave a brief background of

their experiences for the Commission.

 NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting of the Glendale Arts Commission will be on Tuesday, March
18th, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., in the Vault Conference Room at the Civic Center Annex, 5752
W. Glenn Drive, Glendale AZ 85301.
