D R A F T MINUTES LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD GLENDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY 5959 W. BROWN ST. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85302 FEBRUARY 12, 2025 6:04 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL Present: Theresa Fowler, Chair Meegan Tosh, Vice Chair Cody Bro, Board Member Thomas Varela, Board Member April Greer, Board Member Joanne Henning, Board Member Mia Gradillas, Board Member/Teen Also Present:Kimberly Hall, Director, Community Services Kristin Fletcher-Spear, Library Administrator-Support Services 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS NONE 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Library Advisory Board Minutes of January 8, 2025. Motioned by Board Member Cody Bro, seconded by Board Member Thomas Varela to approve the January 8, 2025 Library Advisory Board minutes. NEW BUSINESS a. INFORMATION: MAIN LIBRARY UPDATES AND TOUR Ms. Fletcher-Spear updated the Board on the recent improvements made to the Main library, new equipment, programming, and the collection. She also provided Board Members with a walking tour highlighting the service areas and facility amenities. Board members had the opportunity to ask questions. 6. DEPUTY DIRECTOR REPORT a. Ms. Kimberly Hall, Director, Community Services (formerly Jean Moreno), introduced herself, and gave her background history to the Library Advisory board. 7. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS Board member Varela asked if the odor at the Heroes Regional Park library had been resolved. Yes per Ms. Fletcher-Spear Vice Chair Tosh stated the April 9th Library Advisory board meeting is happening at the same time as the appreciation dinner. Ms. Fletcher-Spear will discuss with the Deputy Director, Dawn Ferro. Board member Henning suggested bringing Glendale at Play magazine to more children and schools. 8. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Library Advisory Board will be held on March 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the Board Room of the Main Library, located at 5959 W. Brown St., Glendale, Arizona, 85302. 9. ADJOURNMENT Motioned by Vice Chair Meegan Tosh, seconded by Board Member Cody Bro to adjourn the Library Advisory Board meeting at 7:13 pm.
