D R A F T MINUTES AVIATION ADVISORY COMMISSION GLENDALE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT 6801 N. GLEN HARBOR BLVD. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85307 AIRPORT CONFERENCE ROOM FEBRUARY 19, 2025 6:00 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER The Aviation Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Chair Bud Zomok Vice Chair Michael Portik Commissioner Joshua Haislip Commissioner Larry Rovey Commissioner Quentin Tolby Commissioner Brett Grove Absent: Commissioner Bill Eikost Also Present: Matt Smith, Airport Administrator Julie Patterson, Management Assistant 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Approval of the Aviation Advisory Commission Minutes of January 15, 2025 Motioned by Commissioner Larry Rovey, seconded by Commissioner Quentin Tolby AYE: Chair Bud Zomok Vice Chair Michael Portik Commissioner Joshua Haislip Commissioner Larry Rovey Commissioner Quentin Tolby Commissioner Brett Grove Other: Commissioner Bill Eikost (ABSENT) Passed 5. AIRPORT BUSINESS Presented by Matt Smith, Airport Administrator An update was given on operations during the last month. There was one noise complaint and a trespasser. 1. Mesa Pilot Development is now operating out of Glendale Regional Airport. 2. 1. Goals were set for the upcoming year. The commissioners would like a Marketing Plan. This could be done with internal resources. 1. The commissioners would like to explore revenue-generating opportunities. These could be achieved with partnerships or fees. 2. The commissioners would like to complete the re-branding of the airport to reflect the change to regional status. 3. The commissioners would like the city to revisit a connection between Glen Harbor and Ball Park Boulevard. 4. 2. 6. STAFF REPORTS Presented by Matt Smith, Airport Administrator The Airport is waiting for a grant for lighting and signage on the ramp. This should come in April 2025. 1. The Request for Quotes (RFQ) for the Airport Master Plan is in process. 2. 7. LUKE AIR FORCE BASE OPERATIONS Luke Air Force Base representative was not present. 8. COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS There were no Commissioner comments. 9. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Commissioner Portik would like to follow-up on the goals that were set. 1. Commissioner Grove would like to have an airport tour. 2. 10. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Aviation Advisory Commission will be held on March 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the conference room on the second floor of the Airport terminal building, 6801 N. Glen Harbor Blvd., Glendale, Arizona, 85307. 11.
