MOTION:  To approve the Arts Commission minutes of February 18, 2025.

NEW BUSINESS
a.
Action: Recommendation of FY 26 Performing Arts Grant Guidelines
Chris Taylor provided a brief recap of the FY 25 Performing Arts Grants, and then
introduced the FY 26 Performing Arts Grant Guidelines. Chris made two
recommendations to the Commission, which the Commission accepted:

Award winners will now have 45 days to complete the Final Report Form to the
Arts and Culture Department, vs. 30 days.
-
Award winners will now be eligible to receive 50% of their Grant award as early as
Oct. 1, 2025, vs. six weeks in advance of their project.
MOTION:  To approve the FY 26 Performing Arts Grant Guidelines with the above
recommendations.

Action: Library Card Submission Vetting
Chris Taylor gave the Arts Commission a visual list of submissions for the Library Card
Design Project, in co-op with Library Services. The Commission deliberated on the
designs, and made their individual recommendations for passing submissions, as well
as unanimous withholding of other submissions.
MOTION: To approve the vetted library card submissions for the Library Card Design
Project, in co-op with Library Services.

Information: Update on Current Projects
Chris Taylor updated the Arts Commission on progress with the Downtown Campus

Reinvestment Project, including the selection of the Selection Committee, the
Procurement department’s next steps, as well as an updated timeline vis-à-vis the
needs and upcoming duties of the Arts Commission.
6.
STAFF REPORTS
Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the departure of former Commissioner
Dalaina Hand, who had relocated out of Glendale.
Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the recent retirement of former Director of
Economic Development Jessi Pederson, and updated the Commission on the current
interim Director, Trent Dutry, as well as the current interim Deputy Director of
Downtown Development, Cutter Chamberlin.
Chris Taylor reminded the Commission about the City’s Appreciation Dinner on April 9
at 5:30 PM at the Glendale Civic Center.

The next regular meeting of the Glendale Arts Commission will be on Tuesday, April
15th, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., at the Main Library Large Meeting Room. 5959 W. Brown St.
