GLENDALE AVE. 1st FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM 103 GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85307 MAY 28, 2025 9:30 A.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER THE LOCAL FIRE BOARD Chair Charles Erickson called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Charles Erickson, Chair Jerry Weiers, Mayor Kyle Borg, Board Member Joshua Moore, Employee Absent: Kevin Phelps, Board Member Also Present: Jim Brown, Human Resources Director Mike Hamblin, Assistant City Attorney Gary Benson, Assistant Fire Chief Scott Ernster, Deputy Fire Chief Dolly Alexander, Manager, Benefits Charlotte Beadles, HR Benefits Analyst Erik Elias, Management Analyst 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizens present. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Motioned by Board Member Kyle Borg, seconded by Employee Joshua Moore The Board voted to approve the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System - Local Fire Board minutes of January 22, 2025. AYE: Chair Charles Erickson Mayor Jerry Weiers Board Member Kyle Borg Employee Joshua Moore Passed A. Public Safety Personnel Retirement System - Local Fire Board Minutes of January 22, 2025. 5. NEW BUSINESS There is no new business for open session. 6. EXECUTIVE SESSION Upon a public majority vote of a quorum of the Local Police Board, the Board may hold an executive session, which will not be open to the public, regarding any item listed on the agenda but only for the following purposes: (i) discussion or consideration of personnel matters (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(1)); (ii) discussion or consideration of records exempt by law from public inspection (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(2)); (iii) discussion or consultation for legal advice with the Board's attorneys (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(3)); Motioned by Board Member Kyle Borg, seconded by Mayor Jerry Weiers The Board voted to go into Executive Session at 9:31 a.m. All attendees that were not Board members or supporting Staff exited the room prior to the start of the Executive Session. The Board reviewed the Medical Evaluations for two (2) new Glendale Fire personnel: Mariah Martinez Anthony Santoro 7. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE IN OPEN SESSION Motioned by Mayor Jerry Weiers, seconded by Board Member Kyle Borg The Board voted to adjourn Executive Session at 9:32 a.m. and reconvened in open session. CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE VOTE ON EXECUTIVE SESSION ITEMS A. The Board voted to approve the admission of two (2) New Glendale Fire Personnel into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) with any pre-existing conditions noted on the Pre-Existing Conditions Report: Mariah Martinez Anthony Santoro Motioned by Employee Joshua Moore, seconded by Board Member Kyle Borg AYE: Chair Charles Erickson Mayor Jerry Weiers Board Member Kyle Borg Employee Joshua Moore Passed 9. BOARD COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS There were no Board comments or suggestions. 10. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Fire Board will be held on June 25, 2025 at 9:30 a.m., at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC) 1st Floor Conference Room 103, located at 11550 W. Glendale Ave., Glendale, Arizona, 85307. 11.
