GLENDALE AVE. 1st FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM 103 GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85307 MAY 28, 2025 9:30 A.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER THE LOCAL POLICE BOARD Chair Charles Erickson called the meeting to order at 9:34 a.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Charles Erickson, Chair Jerry Weiers, Mayor Mitchell Ervin, Board Member Absent: Brent Durham, Police Officer Kevin Phelps, Board Member Also Present: Jim Brown, Human Resources Director Mike Hamblin, Assistant City Attorney Dolly Alexander, Manager, Benefits Charlotte Beadles, HR Benefits Analyst Erik Elias, Management Analyst 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizens present. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES A. Public Safety Personnel Retirement System - Local Police Board Minutes of March 26, 2025. Motioned by Board Member Mitchell Ervin, seconded by Mayor Jerry Weiers The Board voted to approve the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System - Local Police Board minutes of March 26, 2025. AYE: Chair Charles Erickson Mayor Jerry Weiers Board Member Mitchell Ervin Passed 5. NEW BUSINESS There is no new business. 6. EXECUTIVE SESSION Upon a public majority vote of a quorum of the Local Police Board, the Board may hold an executive session, which will not be open to the public, regarding any item listed on the agenda but only for the following purposes: (i) discussion or consideration of personnel matters (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(1)); (ii) discussion or consideration of records exempt by law from public inspection (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(2)); (iii) discussion or consultation for legal advice with the Board's attorneys (A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(3)); Motioned by Board Member Mitchell Ervin, seconded by Mayor Jerry Weiers The Board voted to go into Executive Session at 9:35 a.m. All the attendees that were not Board members or supporting staff exited the room prior to the start of Executive Session. The Board reviewed Medical Evaluations for seventeen (17) new Glendale Police personnel: Christian Angulo Bradey Bejarano Adriana Contreras Joshua Cruz Logan Daniel Brogan Edgell Zachary Gawlinski Angila Gomez Thayne Hahn Erick Hernandez-Gonzalez Nehemiah Lindo Kevin Manke Diana Medina Gerri Mesker Christopher Schmidt Bryan Stratton Joshua Urps 7. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE IN OPEN SESSION Motioned by Board Member Mitchell Ervin, seconded by Mayor Jerry Weiers The Board voted to adjourn Executive Session at 9:43 a.m. Attendees who had exited the conference room were invited back in. The Board voted to approve the admission of seventeen (17) New Glendale Police Personnel into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) with any pre-existing conditions noted on the Pre-Existing Conditions Report: Christian Angulo Bradey Bejarano Adriana Contreras Joshua Cruz Logan Daniel Brogan Edgell Zachary Gawlinski Angila Gomez Thayne Hahn Erick Hernandez-Gonzalez Nehemiah Lindo Kevin Manke Diana Medina Gerri Mesker Christopher Schmidt Bryan Stratton Joshua Urps Motioned by Board Member Mitchell Ervin, seconded by Mayor Jerry Weiers AYE: Chair Charles Erickson Mayor Jerry Weiers Board Member Mitchell Ervin Passed 9. BOARD COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS There were no Board comments or suggestions. 10. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Police Board will be held on June 25, 2025 at 9:30 a.m., at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC) 1st Floor Conference Room 103, located at 11550 W. Glendale Ave., Glendale, Arizona, 85307. 11.
