CALL TO ORDER
The Aviation Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m.

AIRPORT BUSINESS 
Airport rates and fees are under market rates. The recent audit suggested an increase
to the fees. The commission will talk to their members regarding the upcoming rates
and fee review.
1.
Operational and financial reports were presented. August numbers have increased
over last month. Year to date, the number of operations is at 91,222.
2.
There were no noise complaints. 
3.
The trespassers returned, but are in the process of becoming compliant.

6.
STAFF REPORTS
Presented by Matt Smith, Airport Administrator 
There have been several emergency repairs that must be done. 
REILs — airfield lighting
1.
Airfield electrical regulator

Operations building roll-up door

1.
The airfield lighting grant should arrive on September 18, 2025.
2.
The Airport Master Plan Update grant is executed.
3.
The Airport Capital Improvement Plan has been submitted and accepted by both the
FAA and ADOT.
4.
The runway asphalt overlay was delayed until October by the construction company.
5.
THe pavement preservation project at the box hangars has been completed.
6.
 
7.
LUKE AIR FORCE BASE OPERATIONS 
Operations are going well at Luke Air Force Base.
1.
Due to the upcoming event at the stadium, there will be a TFR (temporary flight
restriction) issued for Sunday, September 21, 2025.

COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS
There were no comments or questions. 
 
9.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
The Commissioners would like to discuss the five year airport plan in a future meeting.

NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting of the Aviation Advisory Commission will be held on October 15,
2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the conference room on the second floor of the Airport terminal
building, 6801 N. Glen Harbor Blvd., Glendale, Arizona, 85307.
