MINUTES COMMISSION ON DIVERSE CULTURES 5850 W. GLENDALE AVE. GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301 AUGUST 13, 2025 6:30 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL Present: Nellie Andrade, Chair Richard Henrick, Vice Chair Robert Escobedo, Commissioner Reka Vicsacsan, Commissioner Tanner Contreras-Russell, Commissioner 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS If citizens wish to speak on a matter concerning the Commission on Diverse Cultures that is not on the printed agenda, please complete a Citizen Comments Card and provide it to the designated staff person prior to the beginning of the meeting. Once your name is called by the Chairperson, please proceed to the podium and state your name and address for the record. Please limit your comments to a period of three minutes or less. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Commission on Diverse Cultures Minutes of May 14, 2025 5. NEW BUSINESS a. Annual Board & Commission Member Satisfaction Survey Review and Follow-Up b. Annual goals and strategic (5-year plan using NEW survey results and activity evaluation data) c. Budget and/or Funding d. Discuss the Leaders Roundtable Town Hall regarding key topics impacting the community e. Community event recommendations f. Consider a name change of the Commission with Council approval 6. STAFF REPORTS a. This report allows the Staff to update the Commission. The Commission is prohibited from discussing or acting on any of the items presented by the Staff since they are not itemized on the Commission on Diverse Cultures agenda. 7. COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS 8. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Commission on Diverse Cultures will be held on September 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., at the Glendale Adult Center, 5970 W. Brown St., Room 104, Glendale, AZ, 85302. 9. ADJOURNMENT The Commission on Diverse Cultures meeting minutes of May 14, 2025 were submitted and approved this 13th day of August, 2025.
