CITIZEN COMMENTS
1) Tanner Russell sent Chris Taylor a Citizen Comment to read to the Commission,
expressing a desire to beautify a racquetball court at Chapparal Park.
2) Jackie Collins made a Citizen Comment asking for the Arts Commission’s
consideration about a potential sponsorship between the Glendale Arts
Commission and the Arizona State University campus in Glendale for their Winter
Wonderland event.

Action: Arts Commission Minutes of August 19, 2025.
MOTION:  To approve the Arts Commission minutes of August 19, 2025

NEW BUSINESS
a.
Information: Selection of Artists for Mural Projects.
Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the mural projects that are ready to begin
research and fabrication at a) Fire Station 153, b) Pink House Boutique, and c)
Cubanitas Restaurant. The Commission will deliberate, and send their artist selections
from the City’s Pre-Qualified Artist List to Chris Taylor by Monday, October 27.
b.
Information: Update on the DCRP Southern Art Wall
Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the latest developments with the Southern
Art Wall project, including City Council Workshop session on October 28, and further
information about the artist’s experience working with other cities in the West Valley.
c.
Information: Update on Employee Art Celebration Event
Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the November 19th Employee Art Event,
including Individual and Department submissions, vetting by the Arts Commission, and
Commissioners’ involvement at the event itself.
d.
Information: Update on Elsie McCarthy Sensory Garden
Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the current discussions among City
Employees about restoration and renovations at the Elsie McCarthy Sensory Garden.
The Arts Commission remains interested in funding select areas of the Garden for
renovations, and has asked Chris to continue feasibility studies for those respective
areas.
e.
Action: Selection of Chair and Vice Chair for the 2026 Calendar Year
Per City Clerk, Chris Taylor updated the Commission on their need to select a Chair
and Vice-Chair for the Glendale Arts Commission 2026 calendar year.
MOTION: To recommend Commissioner Lizbeth Feria as Chair of the Glendale Arts
Commission for the 2026 calendar year.

STAFF REPORTS
1) Interim Deputy Director Cutter Chamberlin addressed the Arts Commission about
his tenure and background, and answered questions from the Commission.
2) Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the Arts and Culture Coordinator
position. Holly Ann Garner accepted the position and will begin on November 24,
2025.
3) Travis Rutt addressed the Arts Commission about a potential collaboration with
student artists at Glendale Community College and the Arts Commission.

 NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting of the Glendale Arts Commission will be on Tuesday,
November 18th, 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Vault Conference Room at the Glendale Civic
Center Annex. 5752 W. Glenn Drive Glendale, Arizona 85301.
