If citizens wish to speak on a matter concerning the Commission on Diverse Cultures that is not on the printed
agenda, please complete a Citizen Comments Card and provide it to the designated staff person prior to the
beginning of the meeting.  Once your name is called by the Chairperson, please proceed to the podium and state
your name and address for the record.  Please limit your comments to a period of three minutes or less.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
 
a.
Commission on Diverse Cultures Minutes of October 8, 2025.
  
 
5.
NEW BUSINESS
 
a.
Vision and Mission Statement development - Continued the discussion on Vision and Mission
statement development. 
 
b.
Potential Name Change Discussion  - Continued discussion of a potential renaming of the
Commission to submit to the City Council for consideration.

c.
Strategic Plan discussion continued — Continued discussions on the potential development of
a SWOT Analysis specific to the Commission. The commission agreed to focus on three goals
over the next few years. The commission will focus on the following goals: 1. Develop,
maintain, and educate on the status of the Commission, 2. Assess the community for future
opportunities to engage. 3. Develop and execute, cultural inreach (internal) and outreach
(community).
 
d.
*Open Law Meeting Training - Mike Hamblin, Assistant City Attorney conducted the Arizona
Open Meeting Law session. 
 
6.
STAFF REPORTS
 
a.
City leadership updates on events and funding. The Staff Liaison provided suggestions for the
Commission to partner with the current Glendale LiVE! Concert series events. This would
include a booth/table with resources provided to the public. The City Manager’s office has
agreed to cover advertising flyers with the assistance of the City’s Marketing Department. 
 
b.
This report allows the Staff to update the Commission. The Commission is prohibited from
discussing or acting on any of the items presented by the Staff since they are not itemized on
the Commission on Diverse Cultures agenda.

NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting of the Commission on Diverse Cultures will be held on December
10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., at the Glendale Adult Center, 5970 W. Brown St., Room 104, Glendale,
AZ, 85302.
