CALL TO ORDER Chair James Smith called the meeting to order at 6:03 PM. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Nancy Lenox, Vice Chair James Smith, Chair Lizbeth Feria, Member Derrell Barber, Commissioner Anne Marie Chaney, Commissioner Absent: Elizabeth Medina, Member Also Present: Chris Taylor, Administrator, Arts and Culture Holly Garner, Coordinator, Arts and Culture 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the status regarding a Citizen Comment that was made in October 2025 regarding beautification at Chapparal Park. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. | Arts Commission Minutes of November 19th, 2025. Motioned by Vice Chair Nancy Lenox, seconded by Commissioner Derrell Barber to approve the minutes of the November 19th, 2025 Arts Commission meeting AYE: Vice Chair Nancy Lenox Chair James Smith Member Lizbeth Feria Commissioner Derrell Barber Commissioner Anne Marie Chaney Other: Member Elizabeth Medina (ABSENT) Passed NEW BUSINESS A) Information: Recap of City Employee Art Event and Celebration. Chris Taylor provided a recap of the inaugural City Employee Art Event and Celebration, including budget and feedback from employees. Chris thanked the Commission for their support, and the Commission is supportive of continuing the event once a year. The Commission provided feedback on the inaugural event, which will be used to amend the program moving forward. B) Information: Update on Sunset Art Social program for Fall of 2026 Holly Garner updated the Commission on four potential new projects that she has experience producing for the Commission to consider for a future initiative. After deliberating, the Commission selected a program titled Masterpieces & Margaritas: Sunset Art Social for the Office of Arts and Culture to begin preparation for a potential Fall of 2026 program. Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the remaining Community Activity budget for FY 25, and that funds could be used from FY 25 and FY 26 for this program. C) Information: Discussion of 2025 Board & Commission Member Survey Chris Taylor provided the Arts Commission with the questions, answers, and responses to the answers from the 2025 Board and Commission Member Survey. Chris asked for any Commissioner for any feedback they may wish to provide regarding any of the questions, answers, and responses. The Arts Commission did not have any criticism for the Commission meetings, or their roles and responsibilities. The Arts Commission praised the functionality of the Arts Commission meetings. STAFF REPORTS Chris Taylor provided an update on Holly Garner, and her strong performance since coming to the City as Arts and Culture Coordinator. COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS Chair James Smith thanked the Commission for their support as Mr. Smith served as Chair of the Arts Commission for Calendar Year 2025. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Glendale Arts Commission will be held on Tuesday, January 20th at 6:00 p.m., in the Vault Conference Room, at the Glendale Civic Center Annex. 5752 W.
