CALL TO ORDER The Aviation Advisory Commission meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Chair Bud Zomok Vice Chair Michael Portik Commissioner Joshua Haislip Commissioner Bill Eikost Commissioner Quentin Tolby Absent: Commissioner Larry Rovey Commissioner Brett Grove Also Present: Matt Smith, Airport Administrator Julie Patterson, Management Assistant Attendees: John Padilla, Luke AFB Representative CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Approval of the Aviation Advisory Commission Minutes of October 15, 2025. No commissioners have contacted the Chair to be on the Master Plan Advisory Committee as the of meeting date. 2. The report to the committee on the potential revenue we would receive if flight schools paid $2.97 per student per flight hour rather than $50 per plane per month was deferred to the next meeting. 3. The commissioners voted to vacate the December 17, 2025 meeting. STAFF REPORTS 1. The commission celebrated Commissioner Tolby's 93rd birthday. He was on the Council when the airport was built and participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. 2. The Runway End Indicator Lights (REILs) were replaced. 3. The airfield electrical regulator was replaced. 4. The Operations roll-up door was replaced. 5. Tie Down markers and numbers will be repainted on December 9-11, 2025. 6. We are waiting for a quote on the airfield location signs. 7. The Master Plan kickoff meeting is planned for December 2025. LUKE AIR FORCE BASE OPERATIONS 1. The government shut down is over. 2. The next two months has the highest number of noise complaints due to the cold weather and number of flights. 3. Next fiscal year another F35 squadron will arrive to complete the F35 set at Luke Air Force Base. COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS There were no comments or suggestions. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Commissioner Zomok requested a quick review of open meeting laws. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Aviation Advisory Commission will be held on January 21, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., in the conference room on the second floor of the Airport terminal building, 6801 N. Glen Harbor Blvd., Glendale, Arizona, 85307.
