CALL TO ORDER Chair Lizbeth Feria called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM 2. ROLL CALL Present: Lizbeth Feria, Chair Anne Marie Chaney, Vice Chair Elizabeth Medina, Commissioner Kurt Melling, Commissioner James Smith, Commissioner Alicia Moore, Commissioner Also Present: Chris Taylor, Administrator, Arts and Culture Holly Garner, Coordinator, Arts and Culture 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Arts Commission Minutes of February 17th, 2026. Motioned by Commissioner Alicia Moore, seconded by Vice Chair Anne Marie Chaney to approve the February 17th, 2026 Arts Commission minutes AYE: Chair Lizbeth Feria Vice Chair Anne Marie Chaney Commissioner Elizabeth Medina Commissioner Kurt Melling Commissioner James Smith Commissioner Alicia Moore Passed NEW BUSINESS A) Information: Update on Mural Projects Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the timeline for fabrication and completion of the Fire Station 153 mural, as well as the Downtown Historical Mural Campaign. B) Information: Update on Wayfinding Projects Chris Taylor updated the Commission on potential locations for the pilot program for the Welcome to Glendale Wayfinding project, and provided estimated costs for concept renderings for the Welcome to Downtown Glendale Wayfinding project. Chris Taylor will continue information gathering, including estimated costs from additional Wayfinding companies for the Commission to consider. C) Information: Update on Sunday Brunch Art Crawl Chris Taylor updated the Commission on the Sunday Brunch Art Crawl in Downtown Glendale, including a budget breakdown of a potential one-off sponsorship, for April 2026. The Commission responded favorably to the sponsorship, and will re-evaluate additional potential sponsorship of the program beginning September of 2026. D) Information: Update on Pre-Qualified Mural Artist List Holly Garner presented the Commission with an outline, timeline and rubric for updating and maintaining the City of Glendale's Pre-Qualified Mural Artist List. The Commission responded favorably to the outline and methodology, and Holly Garner will continue the process and project for a May 2027 implementation. E) Information: Update on America 250 Art and Essay project Holly Garner updated the Commission on the America 250 Essay contest, including adding all Glendale Elementary Schools to the contest. Holly Garner then updated the Commission on the America 250 Art project involving the City of Glendale's Pre-Qualified Mural Artist List. STAFF REPORTS Chris Taylor reminded the Commission of the Boards and Commission Appreciation Dinner on April 7, and the Performing Arts Grant Window opening on April 1. COMMISSION COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS Commissioner Alicia Moore asked to coordinate with the City's Communications and Transportation team to discuss a glass sculptured signage, in conjunction with the Welcome to Glendale Wayfinding project. Commissioner Alicia Moore asked about the QR codes that will connect the Historical Downtown Murals to one another upon completion of the project. The Commission asked Chris Taylor to explore additional estimates for concept renderings for the Welcome to Downtown Glendale Wayfinding project. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Glendale Arts Commission will be held on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., in the Vault Conference Room, at the Glendale Civic Center Annex. 5752 W.
