INDIAN COMMUNITY'S STATE SHARED GAMING REVENUES TO
MARICOPA COUNTY FOR THE ARIZONA YWCA METROPOLITAN
PHOENIX SENIOR PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Gila River Indian Community (the "Community") is a federally
recognized Indian tribe and sovereign nation; and
WHEREAS, the Gila River Indian Community Council (the "Community Council") is
the legislative goveming body of the Community; and
WHEREAS, the passage of Proposition 202 by the voters of Arizona in November 2002
set the stage for a new gaming compact between the State of Arizona and
the Community, including a provision for the sharing of gaming revenues
with the State of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the Community has entered into a fully executed compact with the State of
Arizona providing for gaming within the Community; and
WHEREAS, the compact allows that up to twelve percent (l2oh) of the Community's
state shared revenue can be retained by the Community for distributions to
cities, towns, or counties for govemment services that benefit the general
public; and
WHEREAS, the Community Council, as an exercise of the Community's sovereignty,
decides the manner in which those funds distributed to cities, towns, and
counties should be disbursed so as to improve the overall quality of life of
residents of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the Community Council has reviewed a proposed application from Maricopa
County for the Arizona YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix Senior program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, thar the Gila River Indian community
desires to support this proposal for a term ofone year and hereby approves
a grant in the amount of$10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars) to be paid by
October 25, 2022 to Maricopa County for the Arizona yWCA Metropolitan
Phoenix Senior Program.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A GRANT AWARD FROM THE GILA RIVER
INDIAN COMMUNITY'S STATE SHARED GAMING REVENUES TO
MARICOPA COUNTY FOR HOPE'S CROSSING
WHEREAS, the Gila River Indian Community (the "Community") is a federally
recognized Indian tribe and sovereign nation; and
WHEREAS, the Gila fuver Indian Community Council (the "Community Council") is
the legislative goveming body of the Community; and
WHEREAS, the passage of Proposition 202 by rhe voters of Arizona in November 2002
set the stage for a new gaming compact between the State of Arizona and
the Community, including a provision for the sharing of gaming revenues
with the State olArizona; and
WHEREAS, the Community has entered into a fully executed compact with the State of
Arizona providing for gaming within the Community; and
WHEREAS, the compact allows that up to twelve perceri (12yo) of the Community's
state-shared revenue can be retained by the Community for distributions to
cities, towns, or counties for govemment services that benefit the general
public; and
WHEREAS, the Community Council, as an exercise of the Community's sovereignty,
decides the manner in which those fi.mds distributed to cities, towns, and
counties should be disbursed so as to improve the overall quality of life of
residents of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the Community Council has reviewed a proposed application from Maricopa
County, AZ for Hope's Crossing, Fundamentals of Freedom project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Gila River Indian Community
desires to support this proposal for a term ofone year and hereby approves
a grant in the amount of $5,000.00 (Five Thousand Dollars) to be paid by
October 25,2022 to Maricopa County for Hope's Crossing, Fundamentals
of Freedom project.

with the State of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the Community has entered into a fully executed compact with the State of
Arizonaproviding for gaming within the Community; and
WHEREAS, the compact allows that up to twelve percent (12%) of the Community's
state-shared revenue can be retained by the Community for distributions to
cities, towns, or counties for government services that benefit the general
public; and
WHEREAS, the Community Council, as an exercise of the Community's sovereignty,
decides the manner in which those funds distributed to cities, towns, and
counties should be disbursed so as to improve the overall quality of life of
residents of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the Community Council has reviewed a proposed application from Maricopa
County, AZfor Treasure House, Employment & Life Skills Training Program
for Young Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Gila River Indian Community
desires to support this proposal for a term ofone year and hereby approves
a grant in the amount of $25,000.00 (Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars) to be
paid by October 25, 2022 to Maricopa County for Treasure House,
Employment & Life Skills Training Program for Young Adults with
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Community's Office of Special Funding is
authorized to sign and submit such documents as are necessary to effectuate
and administer this grant.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Governor, or in his absence, the Lieutenant
Govemor, is hereby authorized to sign and execute such documents as are
necessary to fulfill the intent of this resolution.
CERTIFICATION
Pursuant to authority contained in Article XV, of the amended Constitution and Bylaws of
the Gila River Indian Community, ratified by the Tribe January 22,1960 and approved by
the Secretary of the Interior on March 17, 1960, the foregoing Resolution was adopted on
