FY 2021-2022 Fill the Gap Certification
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is required to certify by authority of ARS §41-
2421 (Fill the Gap Legislation) that total revenues received in Fiscal Year 2021-22 by the
Superior Court and Justice Courts are five percent or greater than revenues received in
Fiscal Year 1997-98 (base year). This certification authorizes the County Treasurer to release
the five percent set-aside money withheld from these revenues during the past year.
The attached schedules summarize fines, fees, penalties, surcharges, sanctions and
forfeitures collected by the Superior Court and Justice Courts for Fiscal Year 2021-22 as
compared to Fiscal Year 1997-98 (base year). These schedules show that amounts collected
in Fiscal Year 2021-22 exceed the base year (Fiscal Year 1997-98) by more than five percent
for both Courts.
