Division of Community Assistance and Development ALERT SFY-23-A, A1 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) for SFY 2023 Initial Allocations Estimate The Division of Community Assistance and Development (DCAD) is estimating an initial allocation of $5,399,957 for Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2023. Per the CSBG Act, ninety percent of the federal allocation is allotted to CSBG eligible entities. The final Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2023 CSBG appropriation has not been determined. Consequently, level funding estimates have been used to determine SFY 2023 initial contract allocations. Funds will be distributed based on the following factors: number of individuals at or below 125 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, urban or rural status, individuals under 50 percent of the Federal Poverty Level considered extreme poverty and a minimum funding variable. The sources used for the poverty data were the 2016-2020 5-Year American Community Survey (ACS) estimates and the 2010 United States Census for the rural factors, respectively. DAAS has allocated $300,000 to the following eligible entities for Community Action Special Projects, and to Wildfire, Inc. (formerly Arizona Community Action Association), for coordination among eligible entities and providing technical assistance. The Special Projects are also funded in part by a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) settlement fund. See ALERT 23-M – FERC Detail.
