Division of Community Assistance and Development ALERT SFY-23-G Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) Locally Planned for SFY 2023 The State of Arizona’s allotment of the national Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) appropriation is determined by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) based on the portion of the national population that resides in Arizona. DCAD is allocating $1,335,828 to designated Community Action Agencies. SSBG allocations are made to CSBG eligible entities and allocated based on the proportional share of low-income persons residing in each service area. The following are initial contract allocations: Agency Allocation City of Glendale Community Action Program $ 87,159 City of Phoenix Human Services Department $ 643,106 Coconino County Community Services Department $ 19,455 Community Action Human Resources Agency $ 16,096 Gila County Division of Health and Community Services $ 8,048 Maricopa County Human Services Department $ 353,966 Mesa Community Action Network $ 130,117 Northern Arizona Council of Governments $ 77,881 Pima County Community Action Agency $ 0 Southeastern Arizona Community Action Program $ 0 Western Arizona Council of Governments $ 0 Total $1,335,828 These funds must be fully expended by June 30, 2023.
