Duane Oakes <ddoakes@gmail.com> 7/5/2022 7T45AM W To Rosalind Dandrea Good Morning, Here are a few thoughts! Good Morning , My name is Duane Oakes and | have been a resident of 758 E. Draper Street in Fillmore Place for many years. | have enjoyed the benefits of having Irrigation on my property and know the value of the cost and the importance to our trees and irrigation. The challenge is we need to fix the very year old pipes and gates and the only way to make this happen is if we create a water district where everyone helps maintain the pipes. We have had too many water leaks, breaks and floods in our area over the past few years. One time our backyard flooded and if we would have found it 15 minutes later we would have flooded our Basement. The biggest frustration is when | rearrange my schedule, take off work, get up early, pay and plan for irrigation and we are called last minute to cancel our water because of a break in the line. This happened last week again and many other times, especially this past year. This is now out of control and needs to be taken care of and because we are on the end of the line we do not get our water but the families above us and especially the ones that the line is broken a number of times get their water but we do not. | have also had to fix my fathers property when it was flooding from the neighbors line and they refused to fix it as they said that they did not take any water so my father paid to fix a property on 8th street in the same district. Jam a responsible citizen and have spent thousands of dollars fixing my pipes and valves on my property. Unfortunately we do not live in a society that will do the right thing any longer and we need to change this and | am asking for your support in creating a Water District in order for our family to live in a safe and well maintained area. It is time to change this and | would urge the Country supervisors to approve a water irrigation district in order to get all off the pip;es fixed in a timely manner Sincerely Duane Oakes On Mon, Jul 4, 2022 at 8:07 PM Rosalind Dandrea <rdandrea7@cox.net (mailto:rdandrea7@cox.net)> wrote: een nny ~ Dear Neighbor, | would like to kindly ask for a brief statement (short paragraph or 2-3 sentences) affirming your support of the formation of the Filmore Place Irrigation Water Deliver District. Thank you, Rosalind Dandrea 737 E. 8th St. 480-964-4517 A} Feedback July 6, 2022 To Whom It May Concern, My name is Richard Everhart and | live at 740 E Draper St in Mesa Arizona. | am writing to affirm my support of the creation of what would become the “Filmore Place Irrigation Water Delivery District”. | believe that creating this water delivery district is a necessity and that it needed to be created 50 years ago. As a Mesa native, it has always puzzled me that such water delivery districts were not simply set up at the time our neighborhoods were built. As the infrastructure of the irrigation systems continue to age, breakdowns and deterioration of the equipment used to move water will require ongoing repair and/or replacement of parts. This is going to be a difficult, if not impossible situation if there is no formal system in place to collect the funds necessary. | believe that we either form the “Filmore Place Irrigation Water Delivery District” as soon as feasible — or we simply agree that irrigation will cease for our neighborhood. Sincerely, Richard M. Everhart Jr. 740 E Draper St. Mesa, AZ 85203
