ADDENDUM to Task Force Agreement 
This document is an addendum to the Agreement dated October 1, 2021, between the United Stated 
Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s 
Office. The DEA is authorized to enter into this cooperative agreement concerning the use and abuse 
of controlled substances under the provisions of 21 U.S.C. § 873.  
1. The term of the Agreement shall be effective from the date in paragraph number one (1) through
September 30, 2022.
2. Except as modified by this addendum, the Agreement between DEA and the Maricopa County
Sheriff’s Office shall remain in full force and effect.
MODIFICATIONS: 
1. To accomplish the objectives of the Phoenix Task Force, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s
Office agrees to detail three (3) experienced officer(s) to the Phoenix Task Force for a
period of not less than two years.  This is an increase of one (1) officer noted in the original
agreement.  During this period of assignment, the MCSO officers will be under the direct
supervision and control of DEA supervisory personnel assigned to the task force.
2.
During the period of assignment to the DEA, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will remain
responsible for establishing the salary and benefits, including overtime, of the officers assigned to
the task force and for making all payments due them.  DEA will, subject to availability of
appropriated funds, reimburse the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for overtime payments made
by it to the officers, for up to a sum equivalent to 25 percent of the salary of a GS-12, step 1,
federal employee, per officer. Note: Task Force Officer’s overtime “Shall not include any costs
for benefits, such as retirement, FICA, and other expenses.”
