Sheriff Penzone,
Heal the Hero Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) public charity, is honored to award the Maricopa County Sheriff’s
Department a grant for members of the organization funded through the State of Arizona, Office of the
Governor. Each program recipient will receive a complete wellness/brain performance program delivered
by Vitanya Brain Performance Centers. We are pleased to offer this grant to help fulfill our objective of
providing leading-edge (non-medical) neuroscience advancements and wellness programs to first
responders across the State of Arizona. There is no financial obligation on your part before, during, or
after the grant program.
THE GRANT
•
Each participant will receive a program consisting of eighty-four (84) sessions, neuro-
technologies, nutritional supplements and personal coaching.
•
Heal the Hero has funded approximately one hundred thousand (100,000) session hours for
veterans and first responders since 2017.
•
Remote delivery: private sessions each week are delivered from rooms set up at your location,
utilizing the Internet, technology with video conferencing, and participants working with a
personal brain performance coach via “tele-health.”
PROGRAM LOGISTICS
•
Secure rooms need to be provided at your locations for sessions, technology, and products – for
ease of use by participants.
•
Members of your staff must be designated as the ‘site liaison’ – it can be one of the participants,
if appropriate - making sure the room is initially available for the sessions each week and locked
afterward. However, a keypad can be placed on the door for security purposes.
•
Candidates will schedule their weekly appointments with their coach via email.
•
Heal the Hero will work with you to coordinate all facets of the program launch to ensure a
smooth program start.
THE CANDIDATES
•
We require a minimum of fifty candidates to start the program together at any entry point.
•
Participants must continue the program for twenty-four weeks, so for example, they cannot take
the summer off. We understand that the responsibilities of your organization create unexpected
duties away from the location, and we will accommodate schedules accordingly. Coaching
sessions per participant are twice a week for the first three months and once a week for the
second three months. Each session lasts approximately 10-15 minutes, with the exception of the
onboarding session, one end-of-month session, and the final session. The two sessions-per-week
of the second technology, referred to as the brain entrainment headset, are scheduled by each
participant at his/her convenience, 24/7, because there is no coach required for those sessions.
•
Program candidates must be interviewed by Heal the Hero before accepted in order to obtain a
thorough program understanding and the nature of the required commitment.
•
Measurement tools are provided and overseen by our psychologists. These include, but are not
limited to PTSD Checklist-Civilian Version (PCLC-C); WHOQOL-Bref (all domains of quality of life);
CEFI-executive functioning; CESD-R (symptoms of depression); BAI-anxiety. Assessments are
measured on Day 1, at the six-week mark, the twelve-week mark and at the end of the program.
•
Heal the Hero will collaborate with you in the recruitment process, including collateral material,
and video conferencing meetings. Setting up the room at the location will allow candidates to
have ‘a live demo’ to assist them in evaluating their participation decision. We have found that
when the executive team participates in the first group, it encourages others to be receptive to
participating.
•
Securing and maintaining the privacy of all participants’ wellness/health information is a top
priority.
•
If a participant drops out of the program, he/she may be replaced by the department.
