In most instances, because the $25 administrative fee is charged regardless of how many body pouches are being reimbursed, this change will not result in substantial increases and may even provide a savings to the stakeholder. A review of January 2022 invoices shows that out of 68 funeral homes billed, 45 (66%) would have paid less under the proposed fee structure. A review of February 2022 invoices shows that out of 63 funeral homes billed, 42 (67%) would have paid less under the proposed fee structure. The “Child” and “Bariatric” body pouches do not have an approved BoS fee as OME began using them after the last fee review.
