BY AND THROUGH THE MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE  
AND THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY  
REGARDING JAIL WAGON

This Amendment 3 to the INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA) between MARICOPA COUNTY, 
a political subdivision of the State of Arizona administered by and through the Maricopa County 
SHERIFF’S OFFICE (“MCSO”) and the STATE OF ARIZONA through its DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC 
SAFETY (“DPS”) collectively referred to as the “Parties” shall be effective on July 1, 2022 and upon 
approval of the Maricopa Board of Supervisors and the State of Arizona.   
 
Recitals: 
 
 
Parties entered into an agreement on January 19, 2016, for prisoner transport pick up service via 
shuttle van, “Jail Wagon,” to designated areas in Maricopa County for the purpose of transporting DPS 
arrestees to the Sheriff’s 4th Avenue Jail Intake Facility in downtown Phoenix for booking (“Initial 
Agreement”).  References to Initial Agreement are:  C-50-16-046-M-00; P001-2015-003-672; and DPS 
contract 2015-187. 
 
 
Parties amended the Agreement on January 14, 2017, changing the Initial Agreement to add 
additional authorized locations, add or change language concerning certain prisoner health issues and 
add language concerning procedural communications (C-50-16-046-M-00-01; and DPS contract 2015-
187-A1). 
 
 
Parties amended the Agreement on June 23, 2021, extending the term to June 30, 2022, and 
increasing the cost to $94  (C-50-16-046-M-02 and DPS 2015 – 187 A2) 
 
The Parties agree to amend the Agreement as follows.   All other terms and conditions of the 
Initial Agreement and its amendments, unless amended herein, remain in Place.
