Amendment to Intergovernmental Agreement Between Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the Phoenix Police Department C‐50‐19‐065‐G‐01 This Amendment 1 to Agreement made and entered into this _____ day of ________, 2022, by and between the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors acting on behalf of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and the City of Phoenix, Arizona, acting by and through the Phoenix Police Department (Phoenix), the ‘Parties’. WHEREAS, MCSO is an Affiliate Agency with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, administered by the Phoenix Police Department. MCSO will assist the Task Force in its efforts to investigate, prosecute and deter the possession, production and distribution of unlawful images, depicting the sexual exploitation of minors and the utilization of the internet to seek children as sexual victims. WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statues § 11‐952 et. seq. authorizes public agencies to enter into Intergovernmental Agreements for the provision of services or for joint cooperative action. WHEREAS the current Agreement entered into May 1, 2019 (C‐50‐19‐065‐G‐00), expired on April 30, 2022 and WHEREAS MCSO will implement a new Agreement in Calendar Year 2022; and the parties wish to continue this Agreement for twelve (12) months or until it is replaced. Duration and Termination: A. The first sentence of Duration and Termination, 4.1, ‘This IGA shall become effective,’ is replaced: a. Upon approval of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, the duration of the Agreement shall be May 1, 2022 through April 30, 2023 and will continue month to month for up to three (3) months, unless canceled and until it is replaced.
