MARICOPA COUNTY RESOLUTION NO. C-_______________ A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARICOPA COUNTY, PHOENIX, ARIZONA AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING FROM THE FORT MCDOWELL YAVAPAI NATION AND AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS AND PASS-THROUGH. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARICOPA COUNTY, PHOENIX, ARIZONA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Maricopa County Department of Finance is hereby authorized to submit applications for the organizations listed in Exhibit A for Proposition 202 12% Tribal Gaming Funds to the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation in the not to exceed amount of $293,200.00. Section 2. Pursuant to the Board’s Resolution, Processing of Tribal Gaming Fund Applications, dated May 31, 2016 (“Gaming Resolution”), Maricopa County is the administrative pass-through for tribal gaming applications (“Applications”) received pursuant to the State of Arizona Department of Gaming Compact (“Compact”). The Applications seek funds for government services that benefit the general public, including public safety, mitigation of the impacts of gaming, or promotion of commerce and economic development. Pursuant to the Board’s Gaming Resolution, Maricopa County defers substantive review of the Applications to the Tribal authorities and place these matters on the consent agenda. Pursuant to the Compact, Sections 12 (b) and (d), the Tribe shall perform the substantive review of applications and ensure 12% of its contributions under the Compact go to services that benefit the general public. The Maricopa County Department of Finance is hereby authorized to accept grant funds from the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and to pass through these funds to the community non-profits and County departments listed in exhibit A as awarded by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. Section 3. The Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to execute said grant applications, and necessary acceptance documentation.
