Proclamation in Honor of Judge Rosa Mroz
Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona
WHEREAS Judge Rosa Mroz served on the bench of the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona 
since her initial appointment in 2004 by then-Governor Janet Napolitano, and;
WHEREAS Judge Mroz was also a member of the Maricopa County Superior Court’s recruiting 
committee, where she helped to discover and select talented people from varied backgrounds and; 
WHEREAS Judge Mroz was known by many of her coworkers who claim her biggest passion was 
defending the cause of diversity. She was the first Asian American woman appointed as a judge in 
Maricopa County Superior Court history; and
WHEREAS Judge Mroz was not only known as a remarkable jurist, but also a wonderful mom, loving 
wife, a sincere daughter, and loyal friend. She brought an abundance of joy to many in her community 
and will be deeply missed. 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, proclaim 
that Maricopa County hereby honors the legacy of Judge Rosa Mroz and extends our sincere 
condolences to her loved ones and to the Maricopa County Superior Court family.
